Position Announcement

Manager of New Student Services
Starting on or before July 1, 2010

New Saint Andrews College is seeking applicants and/or recommendations for the position of Manager of New Student Services. The Manager of New Student Services serves prospective undergraduate and graduate students of the College. Responsible for generating prospective students’ inquiries, serving the informational needs of prospects, and providing for the seamless transition of applicants through the admissions process, the Manager of New Student Services develops and maintains referral relationships, coordinates all correspondence with prospective students, and provides accurate and timely information about all relevant aspects of the College to assist prospective students in making a wise and godly choice regarding attendance at New Saint Andrews. The Manager of New Student Services reports to the Executive Vice President and works in close association with the Director of Admissions.

Qualifications:
College degree, excellent communication skills, outgoing and hospitable, able to coordinate multiple projects at one time, relate well to prospective students and their families, flexibility and sense of humor, willing and able to travel for recruiting trips, member in good standing of a local orthodox, evangelical Christian church.

Review of applications will begin February 26, 2010, and continue until the position is filled, with priority given to those whose application materials are received by the reviewing start date.

Start Date:
The successful candidate will start employment on or before July 1, 2010.

Compensation:
The salary for the 12-month, full-time position is commensurate with the candidate’s experience and includes medical and dental insurance, relocation assistance, and educational benefits.

Job Opening

Assistant Libraian

Starting on or after January 2010


Position:
Tyndale Library of New Saint Andrews College seeks an Assistant Librarian to begin on or after January 2010. This new position is half-time, but may flex up to three-quarter time, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications, interest and other considerations. This position reports directly to the Head Librarian.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
To be considered qualified for this position, an applicant must, at minimum, (a) hold an earned MLS or MLIS degree or be engaged in active and current progress toward the degree; (b) be a member in good standing at an evangelical and orthodox Trinitarian congregation and able to affirm the College’s Statement of Faith (see the College’s website at www.nsa.edu); (c) have experience using library automation software for collection circulation, management and patron use; (d) have experience receiving, processing, and cataloging books and other material for inclusion in the collection; (e) have experience managing periodical subscriptions; (f) be proficient with MS Word, Excel, and/or other basic office software; and (g) have communication skills and an ability to work collegially with other staff.

Additional Qualifications:
To be considered highly qualified for this position, an applicant will also have, in addition to the required qualifications: (a) prior experience in an academic library setting; (b) experience using SAAS (software as a service) for cataloging by means of the Z39.50 protocols; (c) experience managing and using electronic online subscriptions; (d) supervisory experience with the day-to-day affairs in an academic library (e) experience using and demonstrating networked computers and printers; and (f) experience modifying catalog records and preparing them for inclusion in the Library Catalog.

Starting Date:
The position is available on or after January 1, 2010.

Compensation:
Competitive salary, based on qualifications and experience.
