It's been a big week for author and NSA fellow N.D. Wilson. His most recent novel, Outlaws of Time: The Legend of Sam Miracle (Harper Collins) was released nationwide on April 19, ranking as best seller on Amazon on its first day in print and sold out within three days on the mega-retailer's site. Earlier in the week, the Eric Metaxas Show aired an interview with Wilson that was met with such enthusiasm that Metaxas broadcast a second hour with Wilson two days later. Also this week, Publisher's Weekly published a Q & A with Wilson on their website, and his article "Why I Write Scary Stories for Children" appeared in the Atlantic, where he writes,
Overwhelmingly, in my own family and far beyond, the stories that land with the greatest impact are those where darkness, loss, and danger (emotional or physical) is a reality. But the goal isn’t to steer kids into stories of darkness and violence because those are the stories that grip readers. The goal is to put the darkness in its place.
