NSA's Cody Laun and Lia VanderPloeg Earn Music Awards

Last month, several parties from New Saint Andrews College participated in a large regional vocal competition. Professor Cody Laun and two of his students, Lia and Jana VanderPloeg, competed at an event held by the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) at Washington State University.

All performed beautifully; Prof. Laun won the Inter-mountain region of the NATSAA competition (National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards), was awarded over $1,000 in prize money, and will be headed to New York in January as one of 14 national semi-finalists.

Lia VanderPloeg won the Freshman Women Classical Division of the Inland Empire chapter of NATS, which pitted her against students from such schools as Washington State, University of Idaho, and Central Washington, among others, and was awarded $50 in prize money.

We are thrilled that New Saint Andrews and the NSA Conservatory of Music were represented so well at a large event, and look forward to many more such honors for the Conservatory and the College as our new Music Certificate program matures.
