Merkle Named President at New Saint Andrews College
The Board of Trustees at New Saint Andrews has named Dr. Benjamin Merkle as the next president of the classical Christian liberal arts college in Moscow, ID. Dr. Merkle, an Oxford University graduate and 12-year college administration veteran, was selected by unanimous vote at a special board meeting today. The appointment is the culmination of a five-month national search involving representation from all the constituents of the College.
As the College's second president, Merkle succeeds Dr. Roy Atwood who stepped down in November 2014 after 15 years at the College. Given his current role as the Interim President, Dr. Merkle's appointment is effective immediately. A formal installation will be arranged in the coming months.
