Called Conference 2020 Theme: Christ in You–the Hope of Glory

In Colossians, the apostle Paul says that the purpose of his ministry is to present everyone perfect in Christ Jesus. This is the upward call of the Gospel, to bring us to perfection, by the power of the Spirit, in the perfect work of Christ Jesus. But this is not just an upward call. The Gospel is also an outward call. Gospel grace flows out of the church and transforms the world around us, making all things new. At the Called Conference, students will learn how the Gospel changes us, and by that transformation, how Christians should change the world.

Workshops

Our Speakers

Dr. Ben Merkle received his D.Phil at Oxford University and is the President of New Saint Andrews College. He also teaches Lordship, a Freshman theology class on applied Christianity. He and his wife host a weekly soup night where they feed and fellowship with students. Sometimes he likes to pull out his unicycle and show the students a few tricks.

Dr. Timothy Edwards received his D. Phil. at Oxford University and is the Academic Dean of New Saint Andrews College. He recently migrated from Oxford to Northern Idaho to teach Theology and Hebrew New Saint Andrews College. He is married to Anna and has six kids. When he is not grading on the weekend, Tim enjoys coaching rugby and making a good curry.

Douglas Wilson is the pastor of a Christ Church in Moscow, Idaho, which he has been pastoring for over thirty years. He is also a Senior Fellow of Theology at New Saint Andrews College, a prolific blogger, author, and speaker. He and wife Nancy have three children and a whole bunch of grandchildren, all of whom live in Moscow.

Pastor Terry Tollefson currently lives in Wallowa County and serves at Christ Covenant Church. He has planted churches and served as a pastor for over thirty years. He is married to Bonnie and has six children. Terry loves good conversation, woodworking, helping others, and serving God in the “shire” of Oregon.

Ben is the pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Valparaiso, FL where he lives with his wife and five children. He also teaches Bible at Rocky Bayou Christian High School where he is an assistant coach for middle school soccer. He enjoys listening to audiobooks, mushroom hunting, and snorkeling, but not all at once.

Rebekah Merkle has dabbled in a number of occupations ranging from manning her own clothing label to designing her own fabrics to teaching high-school humanities. Her designs have been featured in a number of magazines, she has written the books Eve in Exile and Classical Me, Classical Thee, and she has edited a Brit Lit curriculum. However, her proudest accomplishment is her crew of five outrageous, hilarious, high-speed teenage children. She also hosts the podcast, What Have You, with her sister Rachel.
