Your Generosity Made a Big Difference

This past spring, we launched an end-of-year matching campaign made possible by a couple of friends of the college who offered to match up to $200,000 as we finished the academic year. We thought that this opportunity would be a great way to close out the year and to keep the fundraising team busy as the school year wound down. 

Well, the fundraising team was just a little too effective, and we had gifts that matched that $200,000 in very short order. So we went back to our donors who offered the upfront matching gifts, and they agreed to increase their pledges to a total of $300,000. We thought for sure that this increase would be just enough to take us to the end of the school year.

Once again, the fundraising team overachieved. I had planned to go to the President’s BBQ at the end of the school year, asking for a final $15,000 or so, to complete the matching campaign. In the end, I announced at the BBQ that we had not only completed the $300,000 match, but we had gone $200,000 over. In total, that campaign brought in $800,000!

So, this is my note to all the friends of the college to say thank you so much for your incredible, generous support. It is obviously of great material help to the college. But it is also a massive encouragement to everyone to see that kind of support committed to our work here at NSA. So, thank you, thank you, thank you. 

As we wrap up this year and start looking towards the next, we are truly grateful for all that was accomplished. And we are stoking our ambitions and prayers for what we will get done this coming academic year.
