Voddie Baucham: A Bold and Faithful Witness

We are grieved to hear of the passing of our friend Voddie Baucham, and we pray for the peace that surpasses understanding for both his family and his companions in ministry. We know that this loss must leave a tremendous hole at Founders Seminary and at Voddie Baucham Ministries. 

Over the past decade, we have been increasingly blessed by Voddie’s bold and faithful witness. In fact, New Saint Andrews College had appointed Voddie to this year’s Lectureship. Voddie delivered his first of what were intended to be four lectures to our student body here in Moscow several weeks ago. 

While we grieve the church’s loss in the passing of this saint, we rejoice to know that he is hearing that blessed “well done” from his Father in heaven. We look forward with hope, knowing that this is only a temporary parting until we join him in the resurrection. And we watch with confidence, knowing that this, too, is a part of our Father’s perfect and loving plan for his saints on earth. 

I would add that we seem to be in a season of loss, as many of our great leaders have been called home in the past several months. But a season of loss is the same thing as a season of summons to the next generation to step up and lead. May a legion of Voddies, who have grown up under his stalwart example, rise up to take his place.
