2026 Spring Concert

The New Saint Andrews College Conservatory of Music presents All Creatures of our God and King, featuring Concert Choir and Kantorei under the direction of Dr. David Erb on Friday, May 8, at 7:30 PM at the Moscow Church of the Nazarene.  The choirs will be joined by guest organist Nathan Davy, the Associate Director of Music & Arts and Organist at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX.  The concert will feature music based on St. Francis' Canticle of the Creatures as well as Psalm 148, upon which it is based.

While this program is titled All Creatures of Our God and King, perhaps it might better have been titled: Crazy Religious Zealots. King David was mad, St. Francis preached to the birds, the Prophet Isaiah spoke of the mountains and hills singing and the trees clapping their hands, the medieval saw and wrote about Christ in just about everything, and Christopher Smart was put in an asylum. Such notions of the heavens and earth, animals and inanimate objects singing and praising God might be acceptable when watching The Sound of Music, Disney movies, or singing songs from the psychedelic 60s, but when churchmen actually believe such stuff, they themselves are seen as Looney tunes. Perhaps such “madmen,” along with Rodgers and Hammerstein, Walt Disney, and Cat Stevens, actually see things more clearly than the rest of the “sane world.” Regardless of how one views it, we are going to sing about it. So, come and enjoy the sounds of the choirs singing about creatures and creation, praising the Creator of the Universe.
