Director of Student Affairs & Junior Fellow of Theology
As Director of Student Affairs, Daniel Newman is available to counsel students, and as Junior Fellow of Theology, he teaches several electives and assists with the senior Theology colloquium. In 2025/2026, he is also teaching Intermediate Koine Greek.
He initially graduated from medical school at the University of Oxford, before reading Theology at the University of Cambridge and training for ordained Anglican ministry at Ridley Hall. Before moving to Moscow in 2022, he served for nine years in parish ministry. He is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh, researching grace and freedom in the thought of the seventeenth-century Church of England minister Thomas Traherne. In his spare time, he enjoys fencing and is the faculty member responsible for the NSA Fencing Club.
He is married to Brooke, and they have six children.
