Dr. Jayson Grieser

Dr. Grieser is a Fellow of Literature. Dr. Grieser joined the College faculty in 2007 after pursuing his M.A. (2003) and doctoral studies in literature at the University of Dallas. He completed his Ph.D. work on the poetry of George Herbert at the University of Dallas in 2011. He received his B.A. in Liberal Arts and Culture, Cum Laude, from New Saint Andrews College in May 2002. At the request of the administration and faculty of the College, he represented the Class of 2002 and delivered the student address at the College’s Fifth Commencement. His senior thesis was entitled, “Jerusalem Owns Athens: Early Church Fathers on Classical Education.” 

Dr. Grieser currently teaches the college’s Middle English colloquium and the college’s literature colloquium. Dr. Grieser is the author of Hamlet a Worldview Guide (2017) and co-author of Calvinist Poetry: 101 Poems from Calvinist Poets (2023). A sample course by Dr. Grieser is available on YouTube; it is called “Milton’s Satan: A New Saint Andrews Sample Class.”
