Faculty Announcement

We are excited to announce that Dr. Mark Coppenger will be joining us for the 2024-2025 academic year as a visiting fellow in philosophy. He retired as Professor of Christian Philosophy and Ethics after teaching for many years at Wheaton College, as well as both MBTS and SBTS. He graduated from Ouachita with his BA, Vanderbilt with his PhD, and he got his MDiv from Southwestern. Not only has he been a professor, but he has been the senior pastor of three different churches in Arkansas, Chicagoland, and Kentucky. His career has varied, with different jobs, such as director of a National Endowment for the Humanities program at Vanderbilt and serving in the military as an infantry lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserve. He and his wife Sharon have three kids and ten grandkids.

In August, Dr. Coppenger will start his yearlong philosophy course for juniors and teach an elective course on Cultural Apologetics. We are happy to welcome them to Moscow for the next year!
