Philosophy
Dan Kemp is a philosopher specializing in ethics, metaethics, and virtue theory. Before coming to New Saint Andrews College, he taught philosophy and worldview courses at Grand Canyon University. He earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Baylor University, where he completed a dissertation on Neo-Platonic ethical non-naturalism under the direction of C. Stephen Evans. He also holds an M.A. in Philosophy from Georgia State University and a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from The King’s College. His research explores the intersections of moral theory, Christianity, and classical philosophy. His scholarly work includes publications in History of Philosophy Quarterly, Religious Studies, and edited volumes from Brill and the Davenant Institute. He is co-authoring a forthcoming book, Sovereign Morality, with Justin Morton.
Dr. Kemp married Carol Anne in June 2014. Together they have four children—Elsie, Jack, Arthur, and Katharine—and look forward to welcoming their fifth child in December 2025.
